Are You Doing Any Prep?

Extending the life of your roof starts with knowing the basics. Understanding what you can handle yourself and when it is time to call a professional can save you time, money, and unnecessary stress.

While we are always happy to provide a free inspection, we also support a hands on approach. Below are four key things you can look for to help monitor your roof’s condition.

Check Your Shingles.

There should be no broken or loose shingles, because that can definitely lead to rain getting in the cracks and seams and causing leaks. In addition to that, sometimes just making time to clean your shingles can go a long way. To help keep them free of dirt, fungal, algae, moss, and whatever other growth that will compromise your roof's health.

Clean Your Gutters

Branches, leaves, debris, tend to aid critters in making nests. A nest or leaves, debris or twigs in your gutter can cause rain water to back up and build up weight which can lead to leaks in your roof. Heavy gutters that are not cleaned can become unstable and collapse which can cause roof damages. If this seems like a hassle, just call us and we’ll handle the cleaning or you.

Keep The Yard Trimmed.

Dead limbs or branches that hang over your yard and home could increase the chances of one or more breaking during a storm and harming your home. You can call us for this as well, in an effort to minimize the possibility of it happening.

Don’t Delay.

Lastly, taking care of repairs as soon as humanly possible. Don’t delay fixing any issues, that’s simply not going to work out well for anyone involved (including the roof). Make sure to get an inspection every 3-4 years to ensure that your roof is in tip top shape.
